Fostering compassion through the power of storytelling.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), many people see addiction as a personal or moral failure. This campaign addresses misconceptions about addiction and recovery by inviting people to consider the power of language and storytelling. I paired quotations from interviews with people in recovery alongside images of motherhood, childhood, and academic accomplishments to create a point of connection with the viewer. Additionally, purple unifies the posters because it is the color associated with recovery. The viewer is prompted to visit a website highlighting stories of people in recovery.
